No matter how our lives or job situations, the land stays the same. And yet it doesn’t. The seasonal changes are in full effect including stilt grass absolutely everywhere and there’s a discovery of new plant species on the regular. This time it’s Pussytoes. Not safe for work.
The radios have been found to be quite useful for my incessant rambling to Shelly and to keep Shelly past of the conversation when Lisa and I are tromping through the woods.
We still see Todd regularly in and out of the property in his big red truck, showing our prospective neighbors where they might lay claim to a piece of this heaven, and making sure no more of his generators are stolen. We do not have power yet, so all work must be done by generator. We have suffered theft as well, but in our case it was two separate trail cams. Both were from a meadow that is a very good place to catch deer on camera.
We have also found them down near our creek, which I originally thought was simply always dry. But it is actually just dry in the summer months. Starting around May or June. In the water there is usually at least some water and in some cases, it floods the area entirely.
